The Challenge
Ewell Castle faced challenges which will be familiar to many independent schools. How to keep networks secure while planning to scale up and add more schools.
Initially, Ewell Castle had Fortigate firewalls installed on a single site. However, there were multiple listed buildings in the near vicinity that required to be connected on a single network.
Ewell Castle also needed to scale up to accommodate a more dynamic environment with multiple departments across the school and to increase capacity for future requirements. Managing the various components was proving an increasing drain on the resource of the small team.
The multiple security solutions didn’t communicate with each other, and changes often caused conflicts. It was, therefore, time consuming whenever the Department for Education or Governors required the security policies updating.
