Vaioni rows to space for Red Nose Day.


Vaioni a leader in UK and Global Ethernet Connectivity and IP Services rows to space to help raise money for Red Nose Day.

The chaps and chapettes at Vaioni took a few minutes out the other day to piece together in extraordinary style (it's the Vaioni way I am afraid) a team effort in raising some money for Red Nose Day. We heard a range of ideas ranging from pie eating contests, who could make the most "working" Ethernet cables in an hour, running across Manchester in a funny costume and host of other ideas and came to one idea we all liked - rowing to space. Yes one rowing machine, a bunch of unfit technology geeks and the background music from Rocky III "eye of the tiger" (just to egg us on).

The Vaioni team will attempt to row 101km in 12 hours. It is 101km between Earth's surface and space, so once we reach 101km we would have rowed to space. We hope we can raise a minimum of £500 from customers, colleagues, suppliers and anyone who wishes to support us.

Sachin Vaish comments - "It's nice to see the people who make Vaioni what it is today, take out a little time to help others in need. The consensus in the office has been a mixture of enthusiasm and excitement in getting something special arranged and in getting as many people involved with the money raising. I hope we get the deserved support and that we manage to row to space in style, whilst raising lots of money for those in need."
