Transit hand-off can be to one of several major datacentres in London, Manchester or Leeds, using either static assignments or dynamically if you have your own AS number.

Network reliability
Vaioni have built a MEF compliant Carrier network. So we have a switch layer and a routing layer. Each layer is built to heal in sub-50ms. We build our hardware to cross multiple datacentres for additional reliability. On top of this our dark fibre is diversely routed to ensure that any external disruption does not affect our customers.

Capacity
The Vaioni network is built to have masses of spare capacity. At any one time the Vaioni network does not peak over 40% and if it did, we have spare ports and fibres which can be turned-up in a few configuration commands. This is monitored 24/7 by our NOC with weather maps and alerts to ensure we react as quickly as possible.

Check for transit partners and peering. Are they any good? Our customers rely on the Vaioni network every day to ensure their sensitive applications and general internet usage is the very best. We have invested in ensuring our transit providers reach any destination in the least number of hops and with the lowest latency. On a regular basis we setup peering agreements to ensure we have direct connectivity into the bigger and busier networks, so you can reach them faster. The average Vaioni AS path is 3.3 which is significantly lower than most ISP’s.
