As the world’s largest tool design and manufacturing resource, Hyde Groups telecommunications infrastructure needs to be of the highest standard. The company was established in 1968 and has 3 core operating divisions. This includes airframe tooling, aero products division and a commercial division. With sales revenue of £107 million pounds and employing around 1,400 people, the company is of significant size.

With a company of Hyde’s group size, reliable and well organised telecoms are required. With the company delivering services to customers such as Boeing, Airbus, BAE Systems and Lockheed Martin, information and data needs to be seamlessly transferred.

Requirement
When Hyde Group opened a new office in Chester, North West England, a reliable connectivity service was required to allow staff to VPN to the main systems at HQ as well as provide internet and email services. They were not prepared to pay the high costs of a leased line, there were few alternative solutions, so they turned to their supplier for alternatives that would suit this large business.

Solution
The Enterprise Connect Bonded DSL service from Vaioni was chosen for a number of reasons – firstly it provided the levels of bandwidth required at the site, secondly, it supports VPN traffic effectively, thirdly it is a fully managed service, ensuring a reliable constant connection. The connection at Chester is used by a large number of project managers, who access the Hyde Group central systems remotely. The connection has supported the project managers day to day operations efficiently and effectively since installed.

The supplier sourced and worked closely with Vaioni on accurate specification and delivery of the Bonded DSL solution to Hyde Group. Working closely with companies like Hyde Group, means suppliers understand their customer’s requirements for both IT and Telecommunications.
