Bonded SDSL
What is Enterprise Connect?
Vaioni have been at the forefront in offering innovative ISP services to businesses both small and large and Enterprise Connect, our bonded SDSL solution is just one solution that offers unrivalled quality and functionality.
Vaioni have developed a perfect compliment to SDSL technology, allowing multiple SDSL connections to be physically bonded presenting a single fat pipe to the internet maximising the potential for downloads and uploads. Enterprise Connect offers scalability, flexibility and unrivalled performance with the added benefit of resilience.
What technology does Enterprise Connect use?
Enterprise Connect doesn’t not use Multilink PPP. Instead it uses a unique VPN tunnelling mechanism exclusively developed by Vaioni. The technology we have developed to create bonded connections is the most advanced technology on the market. It is the only technology that can bond SDSL, ADSL, ADSL2, ADSL2+, and fixed circuits and a combination of different line speeds. Development of this technology has taken many years to develop by Vaioni’s UK based development team and we believe our bonded solution is the best on the market. Our software sits on a hardened version of Linux for ultimate reliability and uses high-end Cisco routers. There are many bonded DSL solutions on the market, some of which are load balancing solutions faked as bonded solutions, others which incorporate MultilinkPPP which is not supported by BT’s broadband network and some who use 3rd party DSL, 3rd party hardware and 3rd party support, making it a poor investable solution.
How is Enterprise Connect delivered?
Enterprise Connect is delivered on a 1U appliance, and a Cisco router for each connection. EC sits on the edge of your network and is presented as a routed L3 device with ethernet presentation and is transparent to your network. Installation of the EC solution is carried out on-site by a qualified engineer and is fully managed by Vaioni.
What flavours does Enterprise Connect come in?
EC comes in a variety of flavours. You can lease the solution, just like leasing a DSL connection or leased line. Otherwise you can buy the solution like a product and own the hardware. Either way you still receive all the bells and whistles.
EC can be ordered as follows:
EC2 – allows you to bond 2 SDSL lines
EC3 - allows you to bond up to 3 SDSL lines
EC4 – allows you to bond up to 4 SDSL lines
Although it is possible to bond beyond 4 lines, this starts to become impractical and performance of the bonded service is affected due to SDSL technology. However Vaioni have alternative solutions to help you.
What SDSL technology does Enterprise Connect support?
EC is the only product on the market which supports SDSL, ADSL, ADSL2 and ADSL2+. This makes EC the most versatile product available today and allows businesses to adapt to newer technologies as we further develop the bonding software. As an ISP Vaioni receives up to date information from all Telco’s including BT, O2, C&W, Tiscali, and others on the deployment of new DSL technology. This allows us to test the technology first hand with our bonding software and to develop it further if necessary.
Where should Enterprise Connect be used?
EC was developed to help businesses and organizations increase the limitations of current SDSL services. Most businesses we have helped are either too far from the Exchange to receive the adequate speeds, or require faster upload speeds or just need faster speeds all round.
Other applications Enterprise Connect can be used for:
FTP services
Web Server access
Terminal Services & Citrix and other Thin Client software
Microsoft products – Exchange, ISA, CRM
ERP & SAP
General Internet speed enhancements
What happens if I want to add more lines to my existing Enterprise Connect?
EC is a scalable solution which provides the ability to add more lines as and when you need to without the need to replace equipment, unlike most other solution on the market which require you to replace equipment at every interval. All that is required is an extra BT phone line, SDSL service and an SDSL router.
Can we buy the SDSL lines off another provider?
Yes. Enterprise Connect can recognise SDSL lines from any other provider and bond them. However performance can be an issue. The only addition to the service is an overhead charge as we need to double up our bandwidth for each connection that is a none Vaioni SDSL connection. This overhead charge of £15 per connection per month.
What support can I expect from Enterprise Connect?
Enterprise Connect is delivered as a fully managed service. This means your connectivity will be treated and monitored just like a leased line. Vaioni are the only ISP to offer a realistic SLA on the bonded DSL service, with a 4hour remote response and a NBD hardware replacement. You will also have full access to 1st line, 2nd line and 3rd line support staff and if necessary to our development team. We do not and cannot provide an SLA of 99.9% like others, as standard broadband does not come with this type of SLA, so how can we?
