Centralised Cloud Management
Centralised Cloud Management
Part of a Vaioni designed WAN solution, the ability to increase the performance of applications and “www” access for users across the business, requires more than just a quality WAN solution.
Vaioni’s designed Centralised Cloud Management (CCM) service promotes the increase in popularity and also the necessity in some business cases in putting services and devices into “the cloud”, a facility that only large Corporate and Super-Corporate companies normally have access to.
Placing your business services and devices into the Vaioni cloud means accessibility becomes super-efficient and more powerful than ever before with the additional benefit of increased security and better stability of utility services such as cooling, electricity and backup power. Providing you complete peace of mind that security is 24/7, manned and caged and that you have surplus cooling and power to your servers, services and devices.
CCM is an amalgamation of several services taken from our Virtualised Communications Platform giving your business private space within or directly connected via a cable to the vast Vaioni network. From here you are at the centre of our network, where you have access to multiple gigs of bandwidth, direct access to transit and global access to reach your data quickly. This is very different to the way businesses commonly operate on the basis all their critical and bandwidth hungry services are located at the HQ. The biggest advantages with our Centralised Cloud Management service are as follows:
- A decrease in bandwidth purchase at the HQ can be considered as applications and services are in the cloud instead of the HQ, so reducing your connectivity costs.
- Less hops and latency to the application or service as they are closer to the internet or the core of the network, so increase in performance.
- Less reliance on the HQ link. If the HQ goes down, applications and services in the cloud still work and are accessible, so an increase in reliability.
- Better flexibility in growth as the cloud is designed for big utilisation and expansion, so quick growth capabilities.
So what examples of Centralised Cloud Management do we see and suggest?
Centralised Application Management
In this scenario you can centralise various applications in the cloud such as CRM, ERP, MS Exchange, MS SharePoint and any other database or highly intensive or bandwidth hungry applications. All users within and outside of the WAN can access the applications through various Layer2 and Layer3 VPN’s and routing, without having to go through another site such as the HQ first, so reducing the number of hops and latency and also guaranteeing bandwidth availability.
Centralised Internet Access
In traditional solutions, internet access would be supplied via the HQ or some major office which is then backed off onto the ISP’s network. Today there is no need for traffic to hit the HQ and then the ISP. We cut the HQ out altogether, so any branch or user from within the network (including the HQ) now accesses “www” directly via the cloud. With this option, you are also automatically protected from the www through Vaioni’s Corporate Firewalls supplied by FortiNet.
Centralised Security & VPN
It is more common and better suited technically to have your security as far away from your LAN as possible. Why? Well it reduces the amount of bandwidth used on your link in an immanent threat. This is what you get with a centralised security system from Vaioni. We run a cluster of virtualised FortiGate services, which incorporate a full security suite and is managed by us. So if spam is caught, it is caught at the Vaioni network instead of your office edge, where it will have already passed through your internet connection. This rule applies for anything else, such as viruses, intrusion attempts, etc. A true gateway security solution.
Also with VPN solutions where you have 100’s or 1000’s of IPSEC / SSL VPN users, the ideal scenario is to house your VPN edge at the centre of the Vaioni cloud to optimise the speed and network availability. Add Centralised Application Management to this and you have a flawless VPN solution to cater for the masses.
Centralised DR
One of the biggest concerns for businesses is how does a business continue to operate if a major application were to fail. Well conveniently Vaioni has a solution where we can provide you with a colo facility within the Vaioni cloud to place your secondary (or primary depending on how you have designed your network) servers and applications. So in the event your primary services fail, your secondary applications (or your DR site) automatically take over. The benefit of placing your DR equipment within the Vaioni cloud it is within a secured and fully resilient location, with access to the internet instantly and with the flexibility to increase capacity within seconds.
