Leased Lines costs and prices

Vaioni boasts the largest UK Aggregated Ethernet Fabric of any ISP, meaning we provide better reach than anyone else for Ethernet leased lines. As an independent provider of leased lines and Ethernet Services, we interconnect and partner with more Telco networks and carriers than anyone else in the industry and not only do we have the biggest reach, we also offer great flexibility and choice for high performance, Next Generation, leased lines. Our business is designed specifically in the delivery and management of copper and fibre based leased lines to cutting edge businesses across the UK.

We have built an intelligent and advanced Carrier Ethernet infrastructure which we own and operate, far more advanced and superior than the average ISP or broadband ISP who dabble in Ethernet and leased lines services. We class ourselves as a direct alternative to BT, Virgin Media and C&W because of our experience and focus in leased lines and Ethernet services. Our network infrastructure and support teams have been designed and developed to manage high SLA driven, high performance connectivity services which businesses rely on to run mission critical applications everyday.

We are one of the only leased line providers in the UK to offer a 100% compensation SLA, stronger than even BT's SLA. This means that your business benefits from a money back guarantee in the event your leased line fails to meet the high standard of service a Vaioni leased line offers. Although our aim is to deliver a 100% fault free service, we guarantee at least a 99.96% up-time SLA and a 4-hour guaranteed fix on hardware faults.

Our routes offer super-fast access to any part of the world fast. We achieve this through quality peering agreements and our primary transit providers Level3 and Global Crossing. These two primary transit providers are rates regularly rated as the 2 top providers of transit, with best route to destination and latency.

This is a Vaioni leased line and this is what makes our Ethernet so extraordinary.

The cost of an internet leased line can vary from provider to provider. The most expensive (in most cases) is BT, but there many other providers who offer a more competitive quote. However as a prospective customer you have to check the credentials of the supplier to warrant the price on offer. Are they cheap because they just want some business and have interests in other areas of internet services, or are you actually being sold a leased line or are they genuinely a competitive provider because they specialise in Ethernet leased lines and related service? To help you here are some questions you should ask your potential supplier:

  1. What is the availability target of the service from the nearest competitor? Vaioni target their service to be available 100%.
  2. Vaioni provides EFM and Fibre Optic based leased lines. What are you receiving from the nearest competitor? Some providers sell you bonded ADSL or SDSL and sell it as a leased line. This is very different to EFM and Fibre Optic.
  3. Vaioni provide every managed leased line with a Cisco router or our Carrier Ethernet CPE as standard and is within our price. Does the nearest competitor give you this high quality hardware as standard?
  4. What type of network does the nearest competitor operate? Vaioni operates a carrier ethernet platform similar to the large tier 1 carriers for best performance and reliability.
  5. Vaioni offers as standard 24/7 support directly to senior technical staff who specialise in ethernet support. What does the nearest competitor offer and do they have this level of quality support? You don’t want broadband support staff supporting your expensive leased line.
  6. Vaioni operates as a market leader in ethernet services. This means our business model (encompassing sales, support, customer care and our network) is designed to run large, high performance bandwidth. What services does the nearest competitor specialise in?
  7. Vaioni offers 24/7 access to bandwidth and latency graphs specifically for your ethernet connections as standard. What does the nearest competitor offer?
  8. Vaioni offers ADSL backup as an option for all ethernet services. This provides a 100% uptime service as standard. Does the nearest competitor offer this?

The cost of an Ethernet leased line is determined by several factors. These include:

  1. Distance of your office from the nearest POP. If you go to a single network provider like BT or Virgin Media, they have to use their own network at all times, so you may find they are not the ideal choice. Vaioni are independent, so we will always find the nearest provider to your office through our unique Ethernet Aggregator model.
  2. The bearer and bandwidth required. The most common bearer (the circuit capability) is 10mb or 100mb, however in recent years the cost different between a 10mb bearer and 100mb bearer is very little, just a few hundred pounds. Bandwidth on the other hand (this is the actual speed you require day 1) varies depending upon your requirement and every Telco carrier prices this differently depending on their network capacity, buying power and business model.
  3. Contract term required. Most common contract term is 3yrs on average, where you get the most value for money, however it does get cheaper on a 5yrs contract. 1yrs tends to be expensive.

Some comparable pricing between Vaioni and the market leaders. Note these are approx figures taken from quotes we have generate in the past and give a good comparison.
